Are these calculators really free?

What is the difference between classical and modern astrology?

Classical astrology (Hellenistic + Medieval Arab-Persian + Renaissance) uses the seven traditional planets, the five essential dignities, the tropical zodiac, and specific techniques: profection, firdaria, time-lord systems, hyleg/alcocoden, sect (diurnal/nocturnal), antiscia. Interpretation is concrete and event-based.

Modern astrology is psychology-oriented; it uses asteroids and outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) and offers more symbolic-internal readings. Most tools on this site come from the classical tradition.

Which tool does what? Where should I start?

Suggested order: Birth ChartTemperament TestProfection (annual timing) → Firdaria (long-period timing) → Synastry (relationships) → Hermetic Lots (Arabic Parts).
