About the Huber Node Chart (Moon Node Horoscope)
The node chart is one of the three fundamental charts of the Astrological Psychology (Bruno & Louise Huber) school: the natal chart shows the present and the current personality, the house chart shows how the environment has shaped the person, and the node chart shows what is carried from the past and the shadow personality. The school uses this chart together with depth psychology, to help a person recognize their unconscious behavioral patterns.
How is it calculated?
The node chart is the contra-antiscia of the draconic chart. First the chart is draconicized: the birth chart is rotated so the North Node falls on 0° Aries, so the house framework (Ascendant, MC and all house cusps) shifts back by the amount of the North Node. Then the planets are mirrored across the 0° Aries–0° Libra axis (contra-antiscia): each planet's node-chart longitude is the difference between the North Node and its natal longitude. In this way the North Node lands at 0° Aries and the South Node at 0° Libra. The Ascendant, however, is not the node but the draconic ASC. The house framework stays draconic; by default this tool uses Placidus houses and the true node.
Why is the aspect pattern the same as the natal chart?
Mirroring preserves the angular distances between the planets, so the colored aspect pattern at the centre is exactly the same as the natal chart, only reversed like a mirror image. What changes is the planets' signs and houses: the motivation structure stays the same, but the node chart reveals in which areas and in what tone that structure operated in the past.
Birth place and time are required
Because the node chart's house framework is derived from the draconic ASC and MC, it depends on the birth time and the birth place. For a correct framework, the birth place (latitude/longitude) and the birth time are required. If the time is unknown the calculation assumes noon (12:00), and the houses, Ascendant and Moon position stay approximate (the Moon moves roughly 13 degrees per day). What does this tool calculate?
From your birth date, time and place it calculates the planetary positions (astronomy-engine ephemeris), the true node and the selected house system's (default Placidus) ASC/MC and house cusps; it draconicizes the house framework, mirrors the planets with contra-antiscia, draws the colored aspect pattern and the notable aspect figures, and shows the Low Point of every house. Results are for education and self-reflection.

Is the Ascendant the North Node?
No. The Ascendant is the draconic ASC (the natal Ascendant rotated by the amount of the North Node). The North Node, as a planet, lands at 0° Aries on the chart. The two must not be confused.
True node or mean node?
This tool uses the true node; it is consistent with Solar Fire's node chart calculation. The difference between the true and mean node is at most about 1.5 degrees.
Which house system is used?
The house framework is draconic (the natal houses are rotated so the North Node comes to 0° Aries) and Placidus is used by default. Whole Sign, Equal and Regiomontanus can also be selected. The natal Huber chart, by contrast, is calculated with the Koch house system.
What if I don't know my birth time?
The node chart's houses and Ascendant depend on the birth time and place (draconic ASC/MC). Without a time the calculation assumes noon (12:00); the houses, Ascendant and Moon position stay approximate, and aspects involving the Moon are marked with an approximation sign in the table.
Does the node chart have a Life Clock (Age Point)?
In the Huber school the node chart's own age point is a separate technique and is not part of this tool's first version. For the natal Life Clock and its timeline, use the Huber chart tool.
How reliable are the results?
Planetary positions are computed with a professional ephemeris (astronomy-engine), and the true node with the osculating (r×v) method; draconicization and contra-antiscia are the established definition of the node chart (verified against Solar Fire). The interpretive frame rests on the concepts of the Huber school.
