The brightest star of the Eagle. White in color, it forms a distinctive trio with Tarazed and Alshain on either side.

Once a year, on the seventh day of the seventh month, magpies form a bridge so the lovers can reunite. In Babylon, it was known as the Eagle Star.
Altair is the brightest star of the Eagle (Aquila) constellation and is located in the neck region of the eagle. Together with Vega and Deneb, it forms the Summer Triangle asterism.
