Its full name is 'al-Nasr al-Wāqi' (The Swooping Eagle/Vulture). In the ancient Arabic depiction, the Lyra constellation represents an eagle descending to the ground.
The fifth brightest star in the sky. A blue-white star forming the brightest corner of the Summer Triangle. It served as the pole star around 12,000 BCE.
